A good quiz night fills a venue, but running one usually means paper answer sheets, marking between rounds and a quizmaster doing sums at the bar.
PubTrivia moves the whole night onto the screens already in the room. Players scan and play, scores update the moment each question closes, and the host view goes on the venue's TV. It comes with 13 question packs and over 800 questions, plus a builder for your own.

Realtime by design
A dedicated WebSocket server owns the question clock and broadcasts to every phone, scaling across instances with Redis pub/sub.

Race-safe game state
Every game step runs in a database transaction with a row lock, so when the timer, the host and auto-advance act at once, exactly one wins.

Clocks that agree
Countdowns sync to the server clock, so they stay correct on phones whose own clocks are wrong.

Fair, fast scoring
Points decay exponentially with answer time, down to 20% at the buzzer.
